Growing up, "period talk" was part of everyday life. There was no stigma around menstruation - my mom and grandma still ask me about how my period is, and I’m in my 30’s!
This open conversation shaped my understanding and respect for the body’s natural rhythms. As I grew older, this expanded into my passion for nutrition and understanding the deeper connection between our bodies and what we eat.
However, I know that food isn’t just about nutrients - our relationship with it is just as important. Growing up, food was a central part of family, a way to show love and honour our heritage. Unfortunately, many of us spend too much time riddled with anxiety on what, when and how to eat.
It's extra challenging if you're living with PCOS and other conditions - there's so much misinformation and confusion!
That’s why my goal is to combine clinical nutrition with intuition to help you heal your body and relationship with food, while also de-stigmatizing periods and reproductive health.
As a PCOS and nutrition expert, my work has been featured in The Washington Post, CBC, Healthline, Primary Care Dietitians Association Conference, and more.
I also teach in the Master of Health Science in Nutrition Communication program at Toronto Metropolitan University, where I’m passionate about training future dietitians to pursue excellence in their practice and tackle complex nutritional challenges.
